Am i the only person who can't start CK at all? Help! :(

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 1:20 am

Hi fellow modders and lurkers!

I've modded for OB and was extremely excited when the CK came out, problem is, i can't start it?
I have it downloaded but when i press play on steam the "steam is preparing" box quickly flashes and then dissappears and nothing happens!?!
If i try to start the .exe in the steam folder it says "blabla steam_api.dll is missing blabla"
I've tried googling that and downloading the .dll, put it in win32 folder, restart comp, stil nothing!

Please help me i want to mod so bad and i have vacation now -.-

Go to Steam and verify data files or verify data cache. You should always attempt a re-install before asking for help. Have you tried re-installing the CK?

Ah yes sorry, i forgot to mention that, i have re-installed the CK 2 times and i've also verified data integrity several times, no problems found.

What is your Operating System, what directory do you have steam installed in, don't every download missing dll files from the internet. It's very dangerous.

I'm using windows 7 64 bit and steam is installed in the standard directory C:\Progammer86\steam (danish windows)
Yeah i realized that afterwards, luckily i was smart enough to scan the file for vira first.
Any help? :(
