Sometime's i'll go to the Blacksmiths and Weapons shops and they will buy some of my Items, but not all of the things they trade in appear for me to sell to them. An axe here and sword there etc etc.

Why don't they buy all the relevants types??

Vendors don't buy stolen goods.

1. If its stolen they won't buy it.

2. Some shops only buy certain types:
- Blacksmiths = Weapons and armor
- Jewelers = Jewelry
- General Store = Almost everything
- Potion shops = Potions and ingredients
- Court Wizard = staffs, spells, soul gems, jewelry

3.Quest items cannot be sold most of the time.


Going to the specific shop of that category will get you more item for that category. General Stores can buy the most of the things you have, but for less than the specialty shops.

Venders only purchase items that they can resell.

You wouldn't go to Lows on launch day to buy Skyrim neither would you go there to turn it in for cash whenever you finally get bored of the game (if ever).

Potions - Alchemists
Armor/Weapons - Blacksmiths
Enchanted gear / Staves / Scrolls ect - Mages
Everything - General Stores (best kind of dealer)

They also wont buy quest items. Whoops, just saw that above.
