I am planning on creating a battlemage. My problem with mages in skyrim seems to be their duribility, so I was planning on taking heavy armor with block. As for damage dealing, destruction and conjuration in the right hand could fit that role. Obviously duel casting when needed. Which brings me to my question.

Does anyone know how much damage a basic shield bash does?

There is that perk that makes them do 5 times more damage, but I would like to know what the base is. If with the 5 times damage perk, the shield bash ends up being some pretty respectable damage then it could be used as a back up attack for when my magicka runs dry.

I suppose staffs could be a viable alternative for when magicka runs out but from what I have seen they are very lackluster in the damage department.

Also, I wonder if different shields deal different base bash damage. For example would a Ebony shield deal more bash damage than say an Iron one?

I have googled it to no avail and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a feeling it deals relatively low base damage, I just don't know how to get the numbers via the console.
