Thieves Guild Bug (PS3, Xbox 360): "Dampened Spirits&#34

Thieves Guild Bug (PS3, Xbox 360): After completing the Quest "Loud and Clear," the questline breaks and cannot ever be completed. Upon discussion with other players, it seems the bug occurs if you do not immediately speak to Maven Black-Briar after receiving the new quest "Dampened Spirits" from Brynjolf. If you go on to complete any other past quest before speaking to Maven, the Thieves Guild questline breaks leaving no way for completion. (Read next comment for more)

When are you guys going to fix this!!! I spent 3 days I won't be able to get back, doing those damned side jobs from Delvin and Vex, thinking I was going to receive "Dampened Spirits"! :flame:

Here also. svcks. I've tried eveythjng. The reason why is because if you broke into the black briar meadery(or brewery not sure which one) when you go to get frost. We know this because on pc you can go back and command it so you didn't break in an the quest will work then.

Metaplunks is correct. If you break into the meadery or alter that line of the narrative the thieves guild breaks. Also, i had a break in the quest later, doing the blindsighted quest. YOU MUST do all 4 special jobs from delvin BEFORE you get too far into the nightingale quest line. If you don't it bugs out in more then one way. I confirmed this using a previous save.

I don't know about the last part of your post.

I finished the main quest line for the Thieves Guild and got my Nightingale gear before finishing the jobs for Delvin. In fact, I didn't even have the option to do the city influence quests yet as I had still not done 5 additional jobs in each of the main holds for Delvin and Vex. I did all the extra jobs and City Influence jobs way after completing the Thieves Guild main qust and getting the Nightingale gear.

Cobra, I did too on my first playthrough. I changed my mind on my first character and started a new one. While playing through the second time my game bugged out. I was playing the same way the first time. I read from another poster that doing the jobs in order before finishing the main quest would fix my bug. I loaded a previous save and tried it his way. I managed to get through the glitch I was having - on blindsighted - and complete the theives guild. Also, sometimes Brnyolf walks out of the cistern if you complete the main quest before working for delvin. In this situation, u can never get master thieves guild armor. So many bugs. cobra, I think u got lucky. Some of the glitches don't effect everyone.

Trust me I know this game is a mess. And yes, I probably have been lucky. But it's not just luck either. I read all these forums so that I know of potential bug situations before starting a certain quest. I also have the game guide.

So far at level 54 and over 375 hours I have yet to have a game breaking bug in game. Just 2 minor misc. objectives that I couldn't complete early in the game. But both were just petty gold rewards lost for doing some random thing for someone.

But all the main quests that I've done have been finished without issues. That includes the Companions, College of Winterhold, Bards College, Thieves Guild, about 200 side quests and the first 3rd of the Main quest.

I think alot of it depends on how a person plays the game. I take my time doing them all and I rarely go right from one quest right to another.

I do alot of saving and re-loading. I always make sure everything is right before I save. Sometimes it can be a pain. But I'd rather take the extra time to make sure it's right than to rush through a quest only to find out I can't finish it.

Best of luck in your Skyrim adventures!!

Very true. I love this game but hate having to worry about saves and tip toe around in fear of breaking something. I too finished DB and companions quest without a problem - except for Skijor coming back to life- and was lucky enough to get through the bug in the theives quests.
