Hey there, wonderful people, I have a little problem.

I just finished A Night to Remember (magnificent quest, oh boy) and I leveled up minutes after leaving the inn, so as I browse the available perks I notice that Archery has dropped from 44 to red 15. Not 10 minutes before, in Morvunskar, I checked my skills and all was dandy. I haven't contracted any diseases or anything, and in the skill screen where it says how much skill is required to buy a perk versus how high high your skill is, it still does say 44. This is just heartbreaking. Does anyone have any idea just what's going on here and how to fix it?

Check your active effects (In the magic menu).

Agreed, you might have contracted a disease somewhere.

I don't quite understand how I clearly state that I have not contracted any diseases only for people to suggest that I probably have a disease.

Alright, I've fixed it by getting an Archery lesson, but for the love of god, Scamak & Badprenup, learn to read more than just the topic header. Thanks.

Its a known issue Lola, as far as I know its a just display error for the stat. Leveling the skill fixes it, as you have already figured out

Thanks Lexandro, you're awesome. Hadn't heard of this issue before so I panicked slightly.

Before patch 1.02 was released I completed a quest in Whiterun. In this quest I retrieved a family sword, as I recall. The reward for this was +1 to Block and +1 to One-Handed skills. I remember my One-Handed being 40 before completing the quest, but being just 20 afterward, with the "20" displayed in red. I checked and had no diseases, but just in case I used a potion of cure disease anyway and to no effect. I haven't slept in the game (even today, 112 hours later, I have not slept), so at the time I thought maybe that was somehow related so I even tried sleeping but to no effect. So, I reloaded prior to completing the quest, where my skills were fine, and completed it again, this time with One-Handed going from 40 to 41.
