Request to Bethesda: Base Objects can contain scripts

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 5:13 am

For those who don't know what I'm talking about:

Certain Base Objects can contain scripts.
When a Base Object contains a script, all children of that Base Object (references) will inherit that script.

Now it seems that only a select few categories can contain scripts currently; so I'm requesting that this functionality be extended to other categories.

In my specific case I need the static object "MapMarker" to be attachable by a script, so that every mapmarker in the game suddenly inherits my script.
I find it odd that when the reference supports scripts, that the Base Object doesn't.

Thoughts?

if you need script on like a static, you can just pick/rename any activator- or other scriptable type of object and, where it says "model" in the base object tab, instead of it's original model select the model of the static you want, that's it.

edit: well almost it - forgot to mention, you need to unpack the bsa-archives containing the models to your hdd first (using foarchiveutility or whatever). :-)

But wouldn't I need to change every single reference to the old MapMarker - in the game - and have it point at the new one I just made?
