How do I make objects disappear after quest completion?

Hi there guys. I'm undertaking making quite an interesting mod for Skyrim in my free time. The thing is, the quest involves activating and deactivating scenery like trees and objects after quest completion.

The basic premise behind the mod is that the whole of Solitude is populated with lush foliage and pine as the Spriggans have started an uprising. The player is tasked in investigating why the hold is being over run with plants and this eventually leads him to an objective eg. a mother plant, where after killing her, Solitude returns to normal.

Now my question is, how would I tell the game that the plant infestation in solitude that i have created needs to be taken away after quest completion and maybe replaced with tree stumps and remnants of the infestation? Or if thats too problematic, remove solitude back to its former self... The mod in progress is called Lush Green Solitude (Spriggan Uprising) if you have any feedback on the matter so far.

Any ideas are appreciated, I assume im going to have to use some sort of papyrus script to fathom this out?

Thank's in advance guys, Danny
