Dual-wielding bound weapons

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 3:02 pm

Has anyone tried dual-wielding bound weapons yet? I am wondering if the Mystic Binding perk (Conjuration) stacks with One-handed perks and fortify enchantments.

If so... what a mean character that would be...

It's so bad ass... Even at level 75, my sneak Mage still uses the bound sword with invis and then with a ward or destro spell when in combat.

The bound weapons just look SO bad ass in this game I've never been able to give em up.

And yes, one handed and one handed enchantments work with bound weapons. My bound sword does 76 damage I believe.

Yes, it does I have done so.

Bound weapons are affected by the relavent skill tree (1h/2h/Arch), its perks, and boosted by skill enchantmentss. With mystic binding the damage is comparible to a daedric weapon.

I use arch age robes, the boots you get from the college and some gloves. My protection comes from ebonyflesh and the ward I use. Keep in mind, my char has only 150 hp at lvl 75, so I rely heavily on illusion's frenzy and sneak attacks. When in combat, my summons do a little work and I'll throw down wall spells and the AOE destro spells. I use healing spells when I get the chance.

But when it comes down to it, I'm using the bound sword a lot with my setup.

Also, if you get the chance, take the decapitation perk, SO awesome lol.

I would think the Dark Brotherhood Mage robes would look suitable.

For those players who want to get good armor and still use magic robes you can smith 3 bits of armor and when casting ebony flesh hit the armor cap easily. My mage has steel plate hands, feet, head and is wearing master destruction robes. When I cast ebony flesh I get armor of 570.

The only downside i'm seeing here is pre-combat preparation but it should be a kick-ass build indeed! I am also wondering if dual-casting a bound sword makes an even more powerful one? Questions questions :)

Dual casting just increases the spell length. You can easily cast both blades at the start of combat though, it only takes a few seconds.

Yea, that just seems so OP though. I'm used to the Oblivion system of spell effectiveness.

But to each his own. :)

I do this with my Dunmer Nightblade. Looks very cool and with some particular PC mods, does great damage as well. I've been using a bound dagger mod as well to pull off assassination kills and two bound swords for normal combat.

It doesn't, but I wish it would!! That'd be dominant. But yes, pre combat prep takes some getting used to. I like detect life and ebonyflesh with the occasional frenzy or sneak attack.

Glass cannon baby! Deal loads of damage but I'll get one shotted by most anything lol.

The only reason I do that myself if because Alteration is a broken school of magic. 3 perks for mage armor are essentially rendundant due to the dragonskin master spell. And the massive gap in armor rating between ebony and the master spells means there is no survival on high difficulties without dragonskin/armor. Plus the idiotically short time of the master spell coupled with its extended and forced dual casting time makes it rather pointless to use, when I can just strap a bit of metal on me and not worry about it at all.

I agree. I wish there would be better flesh spells. That's why spell crafting was so essential. The Mage armor perk should've been x2, x3, and x4. Instead, we can get a max of 300 AR or use armor. They just got lazy and either didn't add better spells or they only thought we would only need 300 AR. Hopefully we'll get better spells in future DLC. Not just for Alteration, but for some of the other schools of magic.
