Will I hit the armor cap in elven armor with

Smithing is 100
5 points into agile defender
1 point into custom fit
1 point into matching set
+ 50 armor rating from lords stone
25% from ancient knowledge, bug (only supposed to give to dwarven but gives to all

Also does making a set of weapon and armor can be improved by % better, help with smithing the armor?

I know how alchemy can easily get the armor over the cap but i don't want to use it.

If your armor is 567, you've hit the cap.

I haven't made a character using light armor yet. I don't want to level a bunch of times then figure out I can't make it, this would be a waste of perks.

There are potions that increase your smithing. So, if you're at 100, and drink a few of those, the result should be better armor. At least, this is what I get from reading other threads the past few weeks.

Good luck.

You can create armors with more than 2000 points by abusing potions and arcaning smithing.
