every file corrupted

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 5:28 pm

The other night I save my game and quit Skyrim, now when i try to log back in it says my profile is missing. I looked a little closer and every game file for every game i have on the 360's hard drive and the flash drive I have are corrupted. The machine acts like it has just reset, like I just took it out of the box. I have not been online with it since I downloaded patch 1.4 and up until I logged out the other night all was working well. (Except for the broken quests, of course). If everything truly is corrupted, I've lost a ton of saved games...not to mentioned the playing time involved.

If you can get it online, try this? http://www.thetechgame.com/Forums/t=1395762/view=next.html

Sounds like a problem with your Xbox itself...

This or your HDD, The game and patches cannot corrupt your xbox.

Not accusing the OP of doing so, but... I did a bit of reading on it, and sounds like it's quite often caused by modding your console and/or getting yourself banned from XBL...

modded profiles get you banned yes, but they usually don't end up corrupting everything. Once banned you can't use the DLC anymore either on a modded profile from what i've been told. Modding a profile is a very bad idea if its a live profile. Modding ones profile can corrupt the profile, but you'd see that before you even tried accessing anything on the system and it wouldn't connect to xbox live either if it was corrupted.

like Rychuz, not accusing OP, just expanding on Rychuz's comment. Modding ones profile is always a Very Very bad idea, as well as modding DLC to be linked to your profile.

My best guess is that it's the HDD. Though as I read the other posts, it could just as easily be a mod-gone-wrong...

If the Xbox won't let him create any new profiles, then it's definitely the HDD. If he can create profiles but not sign up for Gold, then he's been banned.
