What's wrong with quest system?

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 6:24 pm

My level 5 character was given a quest which involved:
- Level 9 falmers;
- Level 12 coruses;
- Level 26 (twenty-six) falmer boss.

How is that possible?

People have been asking for quests like that since Oblivion changed to full scaled leveling.

How? By GetLevel function obviously.
5 vs. 26 is not a challenge, it's idiocy.

look radiant AI usually sends you to randomized dungeons, also after oblivion alot of people were mad that there were no restrictions they could go to any dungeon and kill everything at level one. RPGs are about progression you feel stronger the higher level you are honestly Bethesda still has not got this right in fallout 3 it worked fine but skyrim pretty much at level 30ish your at your peak and at 50 you get weaker but that's just my experience

I took out my first Drauger Death overlord at level 9, doing the Potema quest. Took me 16 minutes, a bucket worth of healing potions, and ever ounce of cunning i had. Boy was that a fight, loved every white knuckle minute.

Uhm, you're not supposed to use GetLevel - that's cheating. You're supposed to attempt the quest and find out you have to wait this one out and try again later. God knows how many fights I had to run away from - and for me that's enjoyment on high level! I do wish though, particularly that in quest that have "no exit" (escape possibility), that I was given some kind of intel about the quest.

I think most people prefer the system here over the totally leveled one in Ob. Yes, sometimes it means a hasty retreat, but you get a greater feeling of satisfaction when you go back later and kick some. But the rule of "the further from the roads, the more dangerous" is a good and realistic one.

I can remember doing a companion quest, one with a dungeon full of falmer, charus and a centurion.
Had to try that dungeon on 3 separate occasions with like 10 goes on each occasion.

Beating that dungeon was VERY satisfying.

I like how this is leveled.

Tho I wish the skeletons were harder.

Took out 10 as they spawned out of coffins in one dungeon without moving, with my bow.
