Editing Alduin's skin question

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 9:54 pm

So, in 3DS Max, I'm editing Alduin's skin because I needed to remove his toe bones from both feet in the Skin modifier because they were acting all crazy on animations in where I needed them.

So my questions are:

Can I weight his foot envelopes so they affect the toes and they move with the animations too where the foot does? For some reason the "Abs." weighting option can't be used, and the options regarding that below it are disabled ("Rigid", etc.).

How can I skin the foot bones to the toes as well, if the above cannot be done?

Doesn't matter to me if the toes aren't animated, it's only important that they move with the foot, since this is going to be from an RTS view (and privately used).

So I've tried deleting both foot envelopes thinking re-adding them will automatically weight the whole foot to it, but the colors show nothing. I am really clueless on this :wallbash: . Is there a way you can link an envelope to multiple bones?

I think the problem is you are talking in big words with no pictures to explain what you are trying to do.

3D modeling has a lot of jargon that can easily confuse people.

I explained my problem in the first post and included a picture with it, I don't know what else there is to add to the description O_O.

The toe bones do not act as they should, they are completely ruined in animations and even the static model. I removed them. I need to know how can I assign the toes which are now "bone-less" (I removed them from the skin modifier only, ofc) to the foot bone. Which actually means they need an envelope, right? Hope this version helps you understand it more
