I am having a bit of bother doing smithing improvements for my dual wield characters weapons. I am playing on PS3 so only have two quick slots available for weapons, I assume this is the same on Xbox so folks on that platform may be having the same problem. My main weapons are two swords or a bow. Initially this is fine as two identical swords can be assigned to a single quick slot, so I have the swords assigned to left on the d pad and the bow on the right.

The problem starts when you improve weapons on the grindstone. Currently my two swords are listed in the inventory like this:

Skyforge steel sword (2)

Once improved on the grindstone they now appear as:

Skyforge steel sword (Superior)
skyforge steel sword (Superior)

Since they now appear as two separate items instead of one item x2 they can no longer both be assigned to a single quick slot. What this boils down to is that I have the choice of keeping my swords basic for quick access to them, or I upgrade them at a cost of having to stop to tit about in the menu each time I want to switch from my bow to my swords.

Has anyone else run into this? Or better still know a way around it? I sure hope so!

What about just having them in the favorites menu? Yeah there is a short pause, but it's not like you have to pull up the main inventory screen.

ive had the same problem but on the xbox version, i wanted to dual wield the same axe but you cant do that from the quick menu. you have to go into your items then select them separately as left and right.

Maybe I'm just being fussy but they already are in the favourites menu. I just think it's a bit silly that you can swap out your basic weapons on the fly but have to use the favourites menu to do the same thing with the same weapons that have just been improved. I'm sure it must be some sort of oversight. Thanks for your thoughts.

I used two Skyforge Steel swords at Legendary ^^ 83dmg each But they get shown up as 2x Sword XXX

Well at least it's working for someone! Just out of interest are you on console or PC?
