Making A Living Statue?

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 9:09 pm

Hey, I was wondering if anybody has tried making a living statue yet? Basically, an actor that is frozen in position a certain time into an animation. I remember there being an Oblivion guide for doing this however the SetDead command that it used no longer exists. If I can't do it this way, can someone point me in the direction of manually making such a statue as a static nif?

Indeed. I suggest taking a look at how Bethesda accomplished it.

All my display house mannequins are made from NPCs.
They work fine except for the head discolor bug that comes with making new NPCs.

Pretty simple process.

1. Find a NPC you want as a mannequin and make a duplicate, this is important because some of editing will stick to the original when you save if you dont.
One of the preset ones is the easiest to start with as there is less to remove to turn it into a mannequin.
2. open it to edit
  • change the ID to what ever you like
  • delete the name and leave it blank
  • check the UNIQUE, IS GHOST, INVULNERABLE and DOESNT BLEED boxes, uncheck any others
  • add MannequinActivtorSCRIPT to the script box
  • Factions Tab, delete any factions then add dunPrisonerFaction.
  • Relationship Tab, delete all relationships.
  • AI Packages Tab, delete all packages and then add MannequinStay.
  • Remove all the items from the inventory.
3. Hit Ok to save and say no to making a new form and then yes.
4. now use it just like the stock mannequin.

Thanks. I was kind of hoping to be able to throw them in a certain pose (such as mid swing). Perhaps I'll mess around with that script and see what I can come up with.

How about making it so you could turn dead NPCs into mannequins ingame?

"Sorry about that your majesty, but be reassured, you'll have a place of honor in my living room!"

This could be good or bad...

You'll either be Tamriel's Theodore Roosevelt (Big Game Hunter), or Buffalo Bill (The one from Silence of the lambs... In other words: Bug-f*** Crazy)

Hey, I followed these instructions word for word but when I go in my house, the "statue" is sitting in a chair! Sure, it's not moving or anything, but it's sitting down when it should be standing in the corner where I put it in the CK. What am I doing wrong here?

EDIT: Nevermind, I missed something.

I am trying to figure that out too.

The mannequins ingame have a heading marker on exact the same location as the "creature" (xyz) and with the same heading.. I was told that was important. I had loads of problems with my mannequins too btw but now they do as they are told.. most of the time.
