Saving and opening issues.

I got the CK and watched the tutorials. duplicated a cell, wiped it, named it and it was in the list. I then spent ages making my player home, hours of work. I then came back to it the next day, but the cell did not appear in the cell list. (I had loaded skyrim.esp in the in the data loading menu) I had no idea why this was, but i restarted the CK and noticed that in the dialogue box where you have to select Skyrim.esp I noticed my mod in there, so I selected it and then it appeared in the cell list. I worked some more, then tried to save, it would not let me as it said the file was active. So I gave it a new name, the same name but just with 2 at the end. However,, when I ran the game and typed coc mymod2 nothing happened. Also my original file was completely warped all over the place when i COC'd to it. Also the new mymod2 file does not appear in the dialogue box at the beginning, like despite saving it, it somehow vanished. I checked the data folder and its not there. I have no idea what to do.

Either this is some grotesque bug, which i doubt as it would make the CK completely useless, or most likely I am doing something wrong, I followed the tutorials and they showed me how to save but not to open a cell, so I want to know how to open a cell you have been working on as none of mine have appeared in the list, I have even tried making a new cell with a couple of props to test this and they do not appear after i close and re-open. And also is there any other way to open the cell without using the dialogue box at the beginning as doing that completely corrupts the file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
