How did I mess up now?

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 1:00 am

I swear the closer I am to finishing the mod another problem shows up.

I am working on a series mods called Better Racials. One mod in particular deals with the Dunmer.

In that mod I added the ability to summon leveled ancestor ghosts.

I've set up the actors, spells, mgef and conditions for them to appear at the appropiate levels.

But only 3 of the 6 actors show up.

For example:

Levels 1-10 Ancestral Ghost

Levels 11-20 Ancestral warror

Levels 21-30 Ancestral Guardian

Levels 31-40 Ancestral Hero

Levels 41-50 Mythical Ancestral Hero

Levels 50-80 Permanent Mythical Ancestral Hero

My problem is at levels 21-30 suppose to appear the ancestral guardian. Instead the ancestral warrior appears.

And at levels 31-40 suppose too appear the ancestral hero. Instead the ancestor warrior appears yet again.

All the other summons work like they should. It's just those two that don't work.

Here's a pic of how I got the power setup:

Do you have conditions on each spell effect? If so, that would be the problem as in you might have the conditions setup wrong.

Hi Willie. Yes, I have conditions setup for every spell.

I'll try to write the conditions.

Ancestor Ghost:

GetLevel <= 10

Runon Ref 00000014

Ancestor Warrior

GetLevel > 10

Runon Ref 00000014

Ancestor Guardian

GetLevel > 20

Runon Ref 00000014

Ancestor Hero

GetLevel > 30

Runon Ref 00000014

Mythical Ancestor Hero

GetLevel > 40

Runon Ref 00000014

Mythical Ancestor Hero

GetLevel > 50

Runon Ref 00000014

If you actually have it setup that way, it should work correctly.
Make sure your different effects are calling the correct ghost.

That's the thing the actors and magic effects are all set up properly, yet only 3 of the 6 actors appear.

I'm convinced it might be a bug or something.

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but if you have it set up like that the conditions may be causing trouble because most levels would fall under multiple of those conditions. For example lvl 21 would be considered '> 10' as well as '> 20'.

Thats true Xtynct, I was thinking about AI packages where it takes only the first true condition.

You would need to add an 'and' condition to your effects to make sure its, for example,

Level > 10 and Level <= 20

And how would I go about adding an 'and' condition?

Just add a second condition and make sure the 'Or' checkbox is not checked on either condition. You want the conditions to be Level > 10 AND Level <= 20, instead of Level > 10 OR Level <= 20.

Also WillieSea if it only took the first condition it would still cause issues, in that case it would never get to any condition after Level > 10. :P

It works. Thank you so much to the both of you. I already thought I was going to have to scrap the mod, due to bugs.
