Skyrim GraphicsPatch Issue

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 9:56 am

Can someone please help me. No one has been able to so far. I just got Skyrim today and it updated it with a 27mb patch and nothing else. Does that mean it's up to date? or is something wrong? When i'm playing i'll be doing normal stuff and I will press B and go into the menu and do stuff, come back out, go back in another time, and the graphics lower everytime, little by little. My xbox is a 4GB console, is it because of the small memory? I tried clearing the cache, but nothing worked, can someone please help me?

if you just bought skyrim today, and updated it today you have the most recent patch. You're imaging things if you think the graphics is down grading everytime you come out of the menu lmfao

a 4gb xbox means you have a 4gb hard drive, a 250gb xbox means it has a 250gb hard drive. Hard drive has nothing to do with the graphics

The 4gb model is almost certainly having caching issues. Skyrim makes extensive usage of the 360's caching ability. Some sites have said that players should have at least 10gb of free space for the game install and its cache files.

In any case its highly recommended to get a bigger HDD for that 360. 4gb of storage is extremely low by todays standards.

Make sure you dip the Xbox in warm water to get rid of any dirt that might be in the system.

As stated by Lexandro, caching is needed to effectively stream HD graphics for Skyrim. The 4GB model just doesnt cut it. So while a HD in it of itself has no bearing on graphics, the size of the cache file does.

How much does it cost to get a new hard drive? I have an Elite and there's 20 dollar 20 GB one, but someone said that it doesn't work with the elite. I feel like returning skyrim though, the graphics are what make it so amazing, but they just go down little by little every time i go to the menu and it comes to the point where I can't even see creases in the hands. I tried clearing my cache too.

I used to use an old 20gb with my elite without any problems, The old 360's (pre - S) all have the same HDD attachments, Just different size HDD's inside of them.
