Respawn Glitch (plant and enemy respawns)

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 11:57 am

There are a few locations that I have noted along the roads that enemies respawn at every so often, they have respawned fine there before patch 1.3.

1.6 fixed them respawning for a while but after 70 hours of play with a brand new 1.6 character the enemies along the roads have stopped respawning, to test I went into a house and waited four months and the enemies have not came back, the four areas along the roads are as followed.

1. To the right of the ritual stone wolves and skeevers usually appear on a hill and they have not came back.

2. In between Honeybrew Meadary and Graywinter watch along the road right by the bride there is usually a wolf or a sabre cat sometimes up the road there might be a skeever.

3. Directly North of North Brittleshin Pass on the road there is a rocky platform wolves, skeevers, or sabrecats will be on it and they have not came back.

4. Directly east of Fort Sungard in between a rocky crevice a bear usually stands but he has not been respawned.

I want to note so far all enemies outside or in their respective dungeons have all so far respawned.

Then I am having issues with my plants respawning, my plants are not respawning and the problem is getting worse bigger areas are getting effected and more plants are not growing back at all.

Also its taking some plants the normal two weeks to grow back for others its thirty plus days.

Then if I pick plants in a minor city just once and I come hack and they have grown back, and if I do not pick any and walk into an owned house of mine the castle or Jorrvaskar (spelling?) In Whiterun and I come back out sometimes some of the plants will be gone and other times all of the plants in the city will be gone.

Then there is some plants in the wilderness that is gone even if over not traveled in that direction.

I have cleared the cache and I've removed and reinstalled the patch, and I have waited over two in game years threwout a 70 hour play through with a brand new character I've made for 1.6.

My sympathies for you. I have some plants that have never respawned and others seem to do it only if I'm lucky, which is kind of a problem for an alchemist. I'm still playing with the 1.5 (made a new character), so maybe things will improve after updating (which I haven't done because of the bugs and not intending to use mounted combat). I do hope they could solve the respawning problem whatever it is!

It seems like rather than undoing what they did in 1.3 that caused the problem, they tried to patch over it. For the most part, they succeeded. But, like you, I've noticed that certain animal spawns aren't working properly. On top of that, 1.6 introduced several new problems; the game runs like crap, NPCs repeat dialog, and follower pathfinding is worse than ever.

Man, I wish I could go back to 1.1. I'm actually thinking about going patchless, and ignoring any further updates.

Yes it seems.the longer you play the more areas are effected here is is some numbers for you. If I went into the Reach in 1.1 and I harvest hanging moss, I would leave with around 250 to 300 plus (with the perk that pets you harvest two ingredients) and ever since 1.3 when I go into the Reach I get around 150 things of hanging moss, keep in mind I stick to the roads to test the respawn issue. Thank you for acknowledging this big it seems to be an oversight to most and this is a serious bug for any alchemist. I pick plants in these games to pass time and its just fun and addicting and I can't since 1.3.

I have to agree with you, the enemies at their dungeons are respawning properly so far mind you, but the world ie losing animal spawns like you mentioned and the world is not feeling as dangerous. I talked with Arthmoor one of the creaters of the Unofficial Oblivion and Skyrim patch mods and he said it was probably a bug in the world respawn timer and I am inclined to agree, the enemies are not coming back in some areas properly because they patched up the respawn timer and its not been fixed properly. Thank you for acknowledging this bug, when I first started reporting the respawn bugs with 1.3 I was ignored by everyone for months.

I hope they fix the plant and enemy respawns properly I messaged Gstaff about the issue.
