Innkeeper Rent Room Factions help

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 10:23 am

I've been debugging my Inn for hours on and off the past few days and I have no idea what's wrong with it. I've tried the same setup as Whiterun, Ivarstead, and Riverwood but they all didn't work. I'm assuming that it's a problem with custom NPC's and their inability to use dialog properly that's breaking it. On the other hand, the DialogueGeneric Quest specifically says to allow the quest to start if the character has one of the listed voices.

Currently, I've decided I might need to make an entirely separate rentroomscript just for my World space because nothing so far has worked.

Side note: I tossed a premade npc into my inn and he worked fine other than the fact that he didn't know where to show me to my room because he was pointing to the room back at his inn. My current innkeeper NPC just stands there and doesn't even open up dialogue.

Edit: Problem SOLVED

Apparently, I had to specify an alias via quest (i.e DialogueTownName). Alias was "Innkeeper" and I had to set "Specific Ref" to the unique NPC I created.

I couldn't figure out how to delete this so in case someone has the same problem, then this will help.

I've just run across this problem myself.

The Inn keeper will sell merchandise and tell rumors but won't rent a bed.

By studying several other inn keepers I thought I had everything matching, including pointing the script to the bed in my inn, etc.

Can you be more specific on how you solved your problem?

Thanks!

Actually, I just found a great video tut that shows a real simple way to get the inn keeper to rent rooms (in case someone else finds this post)
