That about says it all. I tried to make some nightingale armor craftable. Everything seemed to be fine as per the tutorials but when I load the game the "Data Files" is blacked out. Any ideas?

Did you start by making a new data file in the CK?

Or did you just start modding? .... In which case you have altered the default/vanilla skyrim.eps (and so won't see any data files in the game launcher)

Yes I followed the tutorials and made copies, then altered the copies. When I load the creation kit it shows the mod I made along with the skirum files to load into the CK.

So after starting the Creation Kit, you select Data from the File Menu and:

Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
yourmod.esp


are all listed??

Before you load the data files, you select yourmod.esp and the "Make Active" Button, then you double-click Skyrim.esm?

When the Data files have loaded, top left above the menu bar, do you see "Creation Kit [yourmod.esp]"??

Yes it says NightRaven.esp

So what is blacked out when you run the game:

The actual "Data Files" heading?
Or, when you click that, the ESP file (what is in the Data file list - if you can click it?)?

Yes the heading.

Well its working now. I saved my saved games and reinstalled the game and it works now. Must have been some kind of glitch or something. Thanks for the help.
