Background stories for races not covered by TES

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 10:25 am

By this I mean races whose home provinces haven't featured in a TES game yet. I find that I can't roleplay these races because experiencing a character's home province allows me to understand his race on a much deeper level and create a much richer background for him. I can't enjoy a character at all if I don't have a very detailed story for him.

I recently tried playing Daggerfall so I could expand my short list of playable races but it didn't work out because everything is too bland and generic. So that rules Bretons and Redguards out. I haven't played Morrowind yet but I read that the place where the game takes place is destroyed, correct? So that also rules the Dunmer out. That leaves Imperials and Nords. Great races, but I'd like to have a few more options.

svcks to be me :/.

Have you tried reading the lore? Read "A Dance in Fire" to get a really detailed picture of the Bosmer. Plus it's a great story with a twist at the end.

I'm sure that UESP or The imperial Library websites can give you more info about the races and their province.

its the opp. for me. scuse my lame writing, im 1 handing. the games never do the provinces justice. 1stly,m the imperial province. the imperial city is so small! 2ndly, skyrims falkreath graveyard and the really small towns. i find that each province that doesnt have a game, helps me imagine it better. valenwood sounds cool with its moving trees and woodsness. hell,m just the name summerset isle sounds beautiful.

It's not enough just reading the lore, because there is so very little of it. I have to actually see the town where the character grew up, speak with the NPCs, learn its history, etc.. It's why I love roleplaying Imperials.
