So my games been running a little slow since I bought it. Particuarly when I'm in combat and fighting something. Now, that doesn't make any sense at all because I have a pretty amazing processor. Heres my specs:
Intel Core iS 2400 processor64 bit 8gb ram2 tera hard driveAmd radeon HD 6450 graphics card w/ 512 MBDirectx11Windows 7

Now, i've already tried the moust acceleration disable and it did help a lot, but I'd like my game to run really smooth. I'm running on medium and low settings (alternating depending on how laggy its acting). My bet is something with my computer is incompatible or ineffecient paried with something Skyrim runs on, but hardware isn't my speciality.

EDIT: There really ought to be a code without color codes. Although I'm sure there is and I'm just too stupid to find it.

An Amd radeon HD 6450 isn't the best to be honest. But it should be ok for medium. Using any mods?

No. IMO, it's only good for those quality settings if the screen resolution is quite low. It's simply not designed for use with games.

Here it is, in all its sluggish best, compared to a three year old gaming class graphics card (it's only about a one-third part as good. "Newness" is meaningless).

I was referring to my processor being good, not the video card :)

But what your saying is the video card isn't sufficient for playing this game? I don't ask much for graphics, just as long as it runs smooth

Low settings for medium resolution, medium settings for low resolution. Neither option is the way the game was designed to be played, but it's a very inexpensive part compared to what a current game-capable card costs. Far better than an HD 6450 is that three year old HD 4670, if you could still find one, likely to have been marked down because of its age.

Here's an HD 6570 for $70, if you want Medium Resolution and Medium image quality at the same time:

Nah, I don't believe in upgrading for minor performance optimization. I'll wait until it becomes outdated enough to buy one that will actually boost my system quite a bit. Either way, as I said, i could care less about graphics so I'll be playing on light settings.

Ok so I'm running the d3d9.dll patch and its helped a little bit, but not too significantly. Also running with vsynch turned off. Any other tweaks to make my game run a little smoother with my PC?

Running Skyrim in a window rather than fullscreen gives you alot better performance, according to this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iR4eaaqZwGY&feature=bf_prev&list=SP96C073B0B8BFC01D&lf=list_related

Hey thanks, I tried that. But it didn't seem to do anything significant. Now I know they're two different games made in two different time periods but I get 30-40 on Oblivion with ultra high settings and 15 or so on low in some interiors of Skyrim. Again, I know there two different games made with different graphics, but I don't think it should be that significant. Perhaps there is some weird incompatibility with my graphics card and the game?

Any other tweaks?

Is the OP user the Hi-Res DLC pack? If so disable it and see how it goes.

Nope, running it entirely vanilla with the exception of bard songs which won't affect performance. No high resolution texture pack.
