Dovahkiin - Anything else than a warrior?

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 6:47 pm

My point is, (how I feel about it) when you play as a mage/thief, it gives me at least, a feeling that I'm not Dovahkiin/Dragonborn, as the game gives me the feeling that a Dragonborn should be a Warrior.

Is it only me?

yes, for the game the dragonborn is a warrior.. and actually also seems to be a nord. my argonian warrior sometimes feels wrong to be dragonborn.

i don't do the mainquest with thieves or mages. not sure about archers.

Why? Greybeards are wielders of the Voice and they're monks. And race has nothing to do with it because being Dragonborn simply means that you were gifted by Akatosh.

Nah, my Altmer Healer is filling the boots quite nicely. Good twist of fate. I've said before, fate and the gods are fickle and whimsical; would you really expect the avatar of Lorkhan to be a fine, healthy, stong Nord man-child, born to parents who just happen to belong to tradition of trainers in axe combat and who worship Talos?

You must play as a male Nord Warrior with that helmet with the horns on it. You must take Lydia as your follower and marry that hot babe in Whiterun who wants the mammoth tusk.

Not really necessary to be a warrior. But I think the role fits easily with a Nord or Imperial.

Yes, the main quest assumes you are a Nord warrior of awesomeness...doesn't stop me from playing my Altmer mages and my Bosmer thieves as Dragonborn though. ;)

I agree with this it does Point to a Nord Warrior as Dragonborn, but thats not a problem as I play a number of different Characters for diferent questlines.

And my Nord 2 handed Warrior is for the Mainquest, Stormcloak and companion quests, so it all works well for me :)

The gift of the Blood of the Dov is bestowed to mortals by Akatosh. He doesn't discriminate on who gets the golden easter egg, whether you are an Argonian pacificistic thief or a raging cannibalistic Redguard mage. Because apparently in 200 years Redguards have gained an affinity for magic

Mine is actually a farmer who wastes his shouts for farming... till the land? Fus Ro Dah. Need rain? use the storm shout. Need to sabotage rival farmer hindering your crop sales? frost breath or command bunnies to eat his crops.

You are confusing occupation/way of life with race.

I don't really care that the lore of the game points to Dovahkiin as a warrior Nord. There have been many exceptions to who becomes Dragonborn and who masters the shout/way of the voice.

I think its more silly that people can play as Khajiit/argonian/altmer and enter the cities without feeling that they don't belong there... Khajiit especially.

Dragonborn... what happens when a dragon and a humanoid mate?
The Dragonborn obviously has to be Argonian.

He should be at least human and use some "warrior skills".

I have never played a non-human race in Morrowind or Oblivion, so I am fine with the Dragonborn being a human race.
