1.5 causing crashes when fast travelling

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 2:29 pm

Ever since the 1.5 update went live today i've been having a hell of a load of problems. I've managed to sort the majority of problems out by luck by i'm now back to where I started. When fast travelling anywhere my game decides to crash for no apparent reason. It seems that 1.5 has caused this as I was playing it fine until I came out of the game and downloaded the official patch. I was on the beta before and it was working fine. Also when using the ingame steam overlay the text for the overlay is extremely fuzzy, even though the FXAA mod i'm using (RCRN) has the FXAA disabled.

Any help?

edit: just crashed when I saved my game. no idea what's going on, or better yet, what's causing it.

it seems using COC commands works, but i'd have to look up the cells ID in order to move to it. Not really what I want to do. Running it in windowed mode doesn't work either. It did for a bit before if I remember correctly.

fixed it somehow; i guess it was just a dodgy save. The text on the steam overlay and in game is still coming out all fuzzy though. but the wierd thing is, when i take a picture using the steam overlay, when i look at the photo after, the text is fine. which is really bizarre. it's as if some of the characters in the text are missing pixels.

I know it's recommended so often it's getting into cliche territory, but did you try disabling all your mods, regenerating your .ini files, and starting a new game to check?

i did to get the game working again, that didn't work. it was all fine and dandy last night, tried again this morning, all good, updated a couple of mods then bam, back to looking horrible. but the really odd thing is that taking a screen capture doesn't show to effect. It's like the effect you get with an FXAA running, but i have the realistic colour and realistic nights mod and i've turned FXAA to off. I shall try those four mods though.

fuzzy text is being caused by running the game whilst full screen for some odd reason.
