Please include all previous replies when/if responding to this message.Best Regards,Joel D. at Bethesda Softworks Technical Supportsupport04@gamesas.com Customer insists that the means by which the game was released is not legitimate. Customer insists that you cannot sell a 'broken' product. Customer purchased the game from EB Games, but maintains that they are not responsible. Customer insists that the steps Bethesda has taken to get the game to work over the networks is not acceptable, likening it to buying a car which is not working at the time of purchase. Now this was an e-mail I received in late-May responding to my complaints in December-January. That is...5 months of what? It took you guys 5 months to reply to the fact that I was dissatisfied with your faulty product......Skyrim which was so frenetic that after playing for less than100 hrs. I just couldn't take it...not after all the roistering this game was subjected to contrary to performance. So what was I to do with a $60 brick? A brick sold to me again, under false-pretenses could not be alleviated from my grasp and I not compensated for making such a folly. For how is a solution supposed to appear when those who are part of the problem deliberately neglect you. G-staff told me that the numbers of personages affected was relatively low...so what explains such a tardy response concerning the severity of my claim. It is perhaps my fault for instilling competency where clearly there is none. I may be one person...but sadly this one person has had enough of dealing with people who only care to keep face. I hope the ASA will be happy with my report...as-well as the BBB...as-well as the ESRB...Zeni-max your publisher...and just about as many game-blogging sites as I can muster. I will make it known that I will be using all past/prior posting of statements imbibed as a form of advertisemant through what-ever medium of caustic nature.

... We saw some of [the bugs] that we were able to solve very quickly, but we eventually had to go to the consumer and ask for their saved game files. You’re looking at saved games where, not everybody, but certain people played for 100s of hours, and lots of different reasons it was happening. Fortunately we were able to fix it with the latest http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?app=members&module=messaging§ion=view&do=showConversation&topicID=486008&msgID=__firstUnread__#."-If this is the case....why was I not asked specifically for my save file...I've called many a times and was never presented with such a viability. Also you are giving me a blanket statement in the under-lined/italicized.

Also my game started defaulting around the 40-50 hr. part with a game-breaking glitch occurring only hours in.

Like most PS3 users I have the "unplayable" issues many people seem to be describing. I understand that Bethesda is diligently working on releasing patches and that the consumer "movement" has been relatively successful in shedding light on the problems people are having. However...NOWHERE on my purchased copy of Skyrim does it say that an "internet connection is required" to play the game. Based upon my experience and what I have read, this is completely false. The game does in fact "require" an internet connection to play. This is 100% absolutely unacceptable and is false advertising (maybe inadvertently....but false none the less). Now before you go flaming me saying "who doesn't have internet on their PS3", please know that I am a teacher and MANY of my students do NOT have internet connection for their PS3's, and therefore have no way to play the game they paid for. This is something that needs to be addressed. In the meantime...I am personally waiting patiently for Bethesda to correct their mistakes, and look forward to playing the finished version of the game I paid for. Unfortunately I do not feel they will correct mistakes such as this "false advertising". There are people who will be effected by this. I personally know a few. This smells like a potential lawsuit, one of which I would completely support ( for the few innocent people who don't have internet connection on their PS3, bought the game, then realized they actually need internet connection). It's an absolute travesty. At least many of us will have http://www.gamesas.com/# to patches. These few people will be left with a broken, unplayable game that falsified information on the box. I hope this company doesn't forget about these few innocent customers. Just one perspective from a different angle.

from hundreds of PS3 users to pinpoint the nature of the problem, and according to Howard, most of the issues should have been resolved with the

3 month lapse.

They decided to make the SKU, and they should have the integrity of doing it correctly. They made a business decision, the PS3 hardware and tools were not new or unknown. So this means they were bad at managing their time or got cheap with the number of resources. Blaming the PS3 or sony is LOL worthy, the console is five years old.

Yes. People paid money for the ps3 game. Actual, real money. Same price as the 360 game.

If these people can't get their game running properly on the ps3, then either cancel it, delay it until it works, or put a huge disclaimer on the box. They did none of that and sold it as is, swindling customers out of their cash for a game that literally didn't work. They deserve all the blame directed at them.

Meanwhile, smaller developers and publishers get bullied into re-submitting and tweaking their smaller PSN games because SCEE encountered small bugs. Trine 2 is still not released in Europe because they've encountered problems. Problems that SCEA QA & Certification didn't encounter, problems that no one talks about because no one experienced them. Everyone says the game feels and plays just fine, people get the Platinum Trophy without any problems and yet SCEE QA & Cert says there's something wrong with it. That makes me think that it really only depends on the size of your company and your game. When a working product gets held back because it doesn't work as SCEE wants it to work while Skyrim on the PS3 gets the okay even though it's objectively broken then there's something really shady going on behind the scenes. They knew Skyrim would sell millions and they knew bullying Bethesda would mean real financial loss so they didn't bother.
Todd said in the GI interview that "Post release a 'small percentage' of users were still experiencing issues". This looks mighty incorrect. Three quarters of the players in the IGN poll, on which thirty seven thousand replied, had game breaking faults. It's likely the remaining quarter just hadn't played enough to experience them yet.

Since it's unlikely people would play the game strictly "by the book", the internal structuring of the "new" engine would ensure that sooner or later everyone would get the same results.

Did you have just one play tester? Statistically, you'd run into game stopping bugs with only two testers if we are to believe the IGN numbers.

How did you not see this coming? How? Why did you say the PS3 version was performing as good as the 360 one when it evidently didn't - and now you're admitting that it needed work? Why did no outlets get to try the PS3 version before release?

Good luck with your issues.

Sell it back to gamestop for whatever they will give you. Likely not much. And move on.
In other words. Nuke them from orbit; it's the only way to be sure.

Thunder the problem is that why would I trade in something I purchased that didn't work only to return it for a heavily reduced price. Why is it fair to mitigate Bethesda's losses...what about mine? Bethesda has already contacted me stating they will give me a refund for my purchase. The issue I have is it took them 5 months to do so. Also, to move on would imply I'm satisfied/contempt with the provisions set forth to quell my allegations. I am not a weak person. I stand up for what I believe is the right thing to do even if it does seem to be a bit boisterous. While ass-hats such as Bethesda would prefer to swindle millions of dollars from people advocating a faulty product is in full-works, while millions of people die and could potentially use $60-70 dollars to make a HUGE difference in their habitual lives. I am not for waste. I am not for incompetency. And I am most definitely not one to be ignored. I'm just getting really sick of dealing with the vast majority of the populace...too nomadic, self-deprecating, and self-focused. Soon I'm sure there will come a time where like-minded people as myself will no longer have to adhere to those who are lesser. Until that day I merely wait.
