Persistent Quest Marker Problem

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 11:20 pm

I have never been able to get a quest marker to actually show up for my quest. I have no idea what's wrong. I set the objective, and I gave it a target ref, and I updated the objectives from my quest stages tab, but nothing happens.
Interestingly, the text that accompanies the objective change shows up fine, so its not the part from the quest stages tab, but something from objectives itself. Is there something I'm missing here?

Maybe its just my game? If someone could try my mission out and see if the get markers I'd be really grateful. You get markers at stage 20 and 30, and neither of them work. My mod is at the link below.

Did you write in the script?
SetObjectiveDisplayed(Stage)

- for display the targets

I have both a reference in Objectives and the line in stages is written exactly as you have there.
Could you please please please download and take a look at my mod? I'd be endlessly grateful just to know whether or not the Objectives are working on other computers.
It's right here:

Again, I can't tell you how much I'd appreciate this.

If its not pointing to the target on your game, but the text shows up then it won't for other games.

If the target is behind a locked door, make sure the "Ignore Locks" is checked - otherwise if there's no unlocked path to the target it won't show. How is it set? What kind of target ref?

The doors are not locked, and the reference aliases are both forced references onto X markers near the door to the dungeons where the character is heading.

The target ref has to be an alias, so how have you defined your alias?

I just told you, they are forced onto X markers.

Have the same problem. Try a thing load a fresh new save game, a save game you didn't use to test your mod, because alias stuff is stored there and can prevent aliases to work, but with a savegame that doesn't have anything about your quest should work, I still have to test it.

Thanks. Guess its time to start a new character.
