Why can't we level up our companions as if it was our own character? We could shape them up to our liking. We could turn them into pure assassins, weapon masters or epic wizards. Why can't we? It would be a lot funnier to play with them. We need a perk system for our companions!

Another thing that could be done is we should be able to gear them up as well as we should like. In Skyrim they only change gear for the better and not for the worse. Well, but i could downgrade their gear... just because? Why can't we? Lydia would look so cool in full forsworn armor

I already have Lydia in forsworn kit.

you can try and adjust her light armor skill upwards. she might wear the forsworn armor then. shes a heavy armor character by default so she wont equip light armor after a certain level at all.

How would you make her wear light armor then?

up her light armor skill to 100 would guarantee that she would wear light armor at least up till midlevels. it depends on when you got her because companions apparently dont level up with everyone. if she is already a high level you have to make sure that the light armor you give her is better than the steel that she defaults too. im not sure where forsworn armor falls on the light armor scale.
