Create Sound Emitter?

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 12:45 am

Does anyone know how to use the Create Sound Emitter button on the toolbar? I noticed several interiors have 'wide' sound emitters (White bars), instead of single point ones. (Green thing) I would like to make a sound emitter bar that spreads all the way over my narrow waterway so the sound comes from all in the water, but I can't get that button to do anything...

I click on it, and I cant select stuff in the window, I cannot drag sound items in, I can't do much. Can anyone tell me how to use it?

Thanks,
Alexander J. Velicky

Click create a sound emitter in the toolbar, click where you want it in the preview window, choose a sound in the list that appears, enlarge the sound emitter to your convenience with the gizmo, rotate it and adjust his placement. Enjoy.

Sometime, I can place them with one click and sometime it needs double click. I don't know why.

Edit : and now I can't even place another sound emitter at all. It seems glitchy this button.

Yeah that was my issue. I clicked in the render window and dragged around and everything and it didn't do anything. After you said so, I just clicked slowly a couple times and it eventually popped up the window. I think the issue is when you select the button on the toolbar, it unselects the render window, so your first click back there is actually selecting the render window, and the second places it. I placed two without any issues. As I clutter, I'll see if it ever limits me.
