do you know where I can find a list of the animations I can register for, for the player, so that I can use these as switches for scripts? I am particularly looking for the jumping/swimming animations, but others as well.

I think they're under Gameplay > Animations... in the CK. I don't know yet how to call out to them though.

I'm trying myself to get an animation to play based on a window activation option through a Perk. The effects work, but no animation plays.

To have a look at all animations and visual effect I suggest looking at http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1350685-relz-directors-tools-animations-visual-effects-shaders-weather/page__fromsearch__1. It's also a good "tutorial" at how to create menus using dialogues rather than message boxes.
