Can't Clean my Mod

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 6:18 pm

Okay, so here's my problem. I'm unable to clean my mod. I found out I had accidentally deleted part of Castle Dour in Solitude (don't ask, know idea how it happened  ) Nothing I do seems to be able to correct the issue.

I've gone in the CK, went to "File" > "Data", selected my plugin and hit "Details" to see the forms in my plugin. I delete the bad edits so they have the "Ignored" flags applied. But when I reload the mod and save, the bad edits remain. Nothing I've been able to do will remove them. I've downloaded TesVSnip and was able to delete the forms that way, but after trying to load the mod in the CK, I get a error message saying "Form counts don't match. Do you want to correct the file header?" and regardless of whether I push yes or no, it somehow restores the bad edits I had just deleted in TesVSnip.

Anyone have any ideas?

Try going to the details section again and toggle ignore again. I just did something similar and the info wasn't actually removed from the file, it just had an ignore flag next to it.

Click on something and hit the delete key toggles ignore.

It works, but I'm still not quite sure how exactly. You need to select the ignore flag for sure. Then ok. After it reloads, alter something in a cell you created. Save and exit. Load it back up and see if the ignore flags are still there or if the ignored objects have been deleted.

That or you can take your chances with TESVSnip.

If nothing else works, go for a different program (e.g. TESVSnip).
I've found for me so far, simply toggling the ignore flag, immediately loading the mod again, and immediately saving usually works, unless there's is something in the mod itself that RELIES on the change. (So a "cell" will not be ignored if you have modified an object IN the cell)
