If you jump whilst crouched, then press LB (xbox), the sprint button. If you time it right, you can do a sneak roll without the perk. Must be a bug, noticed it earlier.

So yeah, just before you hit the ground press LB as you touch, you will do the roll.

Edit: It seems if you jump, in mid air hold down LB, you will always do the roll.
