Nicos Gift Version 1.0 for Skyrim
___________________________________

Reason for this mod:
_____________________

These weapons were included in the last mod I created for Oblivion.

They were my favorite weapons to use in game so decided to convert them for use in Skyrim so i could use them there as well.

I am uploading them so others may enjoy what I have created in their own game.

What this mod does:
____________________

This mod adds 3 new weapons to the game. A longsword, a shortsword, and a dagger all based on the same shape, and design.

They are also craftable if you have the perk 'Elven Smithing'(just in case some of you would like to dual wield two of the same size).

Where are they????
___________________

They are located stuck into the fire pit stone that is in the center of the round table in High Hrothgar.

They are property of the player so will not show up as stolen when claimed.

Are they overpowered 'GOD weapons' ???
_______________________________________

No. Slightly stronger than Daedric but without any enchantment so the player can add their own to suit their style of play.

I felt this was a good strength for them so they could be a players main weapon throughout the entire game.

How do I install this mod???
_____________________________

I have created the file paths for you to (hopefully) make it easy.

If you're reading this I can assume you've unpacked the 7zip archive.

Find the folder (that is right next to this Readthis file) called 'Data', and either copy it or drag, and drop it into your Skyrim folder (normally located at C:\Steam\steamapps\common)

Start Skyrim, and go to Data. Checkmark 'Nicos Gift' and enjoy.

1.0 initial release

Although most of my works for Oblivion were modders resource I would like to keep this model specific to this mod in Skyrim.

Please honor my wishes on this one.

Nico -- Just downloaded from Nexus and in looking at your models your pathing in the NIf has the textures pathed incorrectly --- the are listed as weapons\nicos gift\nicos gift.dds instead of textures\weapons\nicos gift\nicos gift.dds (so are not showing up with textures)

Most likely your Nifskope settings are set as Install path\Data\textures instead of Install Path\Data\ - so the pathing is being truncated improperly. (Not sure if they still work in game or not since I changed them in Nifskope before loading in game as I tend to check things in it first ! but thought you'd want to know ! )

Thanks jdfan
I have not received any complaints thus far and the nif was set up using the exact same file structure that's in my game.

Can anyone confirm if these are working in their game as uploaded for me?

Just checked them in game and they are working fine --- Guess the game can use either the Textures path or the sub folder in the NIF and still work properly unlike OB which would have had the default purple texture if you had it set that way !

Anyway they look great in game and will be using them once I get that far in game (still just goofing around and haven't gone there yet but guess now I have a reason to ! )

That was an easy one to check for, only took a couple minutes since I have hung on to a save that has completed that main quest.

Released v1_3.
I re-worked the reflective, and specular properties of the .nif files as well as re-did the textures to make a less reflective (bright) model in game.
