Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 5:52 am

Hi I am using a lot of snow covered objects and they look like so in CK but when I go ingame the snow is disappeared and no trace of it , something related with climate or what?

All "snow-covered" objects simply have more or less large white spots on their textures, there's nothing special, and the "snow" won't melt even if you place a snow-covered pine tree on a tropical island.

Any examples of "disappearing snow?" Maybe it's just bad lighting? Sparse snow objects don't look very wintery at noon or in darkness.

I have placed other objects ingame and :

1 The statics with the object shader for snow do show fine the snow , the ones with the mountain shader like the mountains show the snow only from distance and when I approach withthe character the snow disappears , when Iapplied on an object the mountain snow , the snow appears upside down ... any idea?

There aren't like actual snow statics on those mountain statics that fade in when you get close?

Just tried and it works for me, both for custom models and vanilla assets. Silly question, but I guess you did assign the directional material in the CK (or used the 'snow' type entries when using vanilla assets)?

I am using the vanila assets , the ones with problems are the mountain big stuff , they look fine inthe CK , but ingame show no snow ... is it may be something related to climate or what?

Put some of the objects you mentioned in my test worldspace and they did show up with snow. At first I had climate set to 'none', then I tried 'SkyrimClimate'. Both worked, so I doubt it has anything to do with climate. No idea what's wrong. Do you have any mods installed that alter the way snow works? Maybe the mod that gives snow a texture? No idea why it should affect custom worldspaces, but since it definitely works in my game I can only assume that in your game something is different than in my game (and that has to be a mod).
