Horses needs to be improved in the game. I could be riding one and a wolf or a bear runs up behind me and starts biting at my horses back legs. Now IRL if that happen the horse would [censored] kick the animal in a self defense way.

Horess are ...pointless side activities that one can undertake just for doing so.

Yes, [censored]are pointless.

Horses on the other hand have dozens of uses in Skyrim, and not only provide an alternative to fast travel... are integral to getting out of trouble when you CAN'T fast travel due to being in combat.

That's why we have whirlwind sprint and standard sprint. They work nice.

Sneak works too, along with become ethereal in some cases.

Invisibility may also help.

All of these options are cheaper than horess
