Why use night eye?

I just blast the brightness up, I think khajit should have a sprinting ability like werewolves where you get down on all fours and run super fast.

kajhiits also have an unarmed bonus, which is very usefull for a pugilist character
and saying you could just turn the brightness up is like saying why should I get better equipment I could just turn the difficulty down

Well turning the difficulty down gives you no sense of accomplishment, now not being able to see an object you have to pick up unless your a khajit is wrong.

In Oblivion I loved the Kajhit night-eye ability, the dungeons seemed so dark. However, in Skyrim it doesn't seem as bad, though there are instances where it would still come in handy. So I think it should stay the way it is, if you are just going to ramp up the gamma then why play a Kajhit at all.

Blasting up the brightness is for milk-drinkers who are afraid of the dark...

On my tv I have the brightness cranked up but I now play on a computer monitor and even with the brightness at 100 it's still really dark so night eye really comes in handy for me.

With the right mods night eye is quite useful. ;) I also use Night Eye outdoors (day or night) as it allows me to quickly see if there is any movement in the near distance. This is on my non-violent Khajiit, so I need to know areas to avoid (lions and tigers and bears) and to keep an eye out of hired thugs at all times. Movement when everything is black and white (mostly) is easier for me to detect.

What doesn't make sense is the racial ability for cats are limited to 60 seconds of night eye.
