Potion Shelving - Can it Work?

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 10:26 pm

I found the unused potion rack components in the CK and decided to see if I could get it to work, the unfinised scripts for the container and triggers appeared to modified bookshelf scripts so I went about changing and adding what was missing and after a lot of cursing I finally got it all to work. Although it works fine it has a major issue.

The different size and shape potion bottles and the current "place in first empty slot" method of placement means the markers need to be placed for the largest bottle size, 5 per shelf, which doesnt give a very usefull or visually appealing shelf system.

I have played around in the CK with the markers and can actually get quite a lot of potions on a shelf and at present if I store them in the correct order manually they all sit nicely on the shelf when I exit the shelf. I am pretty sure I can script a sorting function to put potions in approriate markers so its all looking good.

This leads me to my question.

To make this thing look good it is going to need a lot of potions on display, I am thinking 2 of each so there will be 200+ potions on display in a fully stocked shelving system.

Is this going to be too many?
