Length of Mod description.

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 11:28 pm

Hi.

I have a simple question. How long may the description on a Mod in Steam Workshop be? - The reason that I'm asking is because I have written 676 words, and it seems, that Steam Workshop won't save, then I press save.

I know, that if I write 490 words, it would save it. I have a suspicion, that the description may not extend 500 words. - Maybe I am wrong, and there is some connection problems to Steam at the moment from my computer.

Anyone that can confirm my suspicion or can be more specific, than I am?

I think it's a bug with the feature. Do what I do: Create a text document (with word-wrapping turned off) and write everything you want your description to say in that. When you upload your mod just leave the description fields blank. After your mod has successfully uploaded go to the mods page and Add/Edit description. In there you can paste your full description for the mod. You have to do this every time you update but I know of no other way.

Hope it helps.

Well it helped with something, that I wasn't really looking for.

I meant, then I was changing the description on Steam. I think I fount out of, what the problem, that I was asking for was. It was some kind of connection problem. I am not exactly sure, as I stated before, but it makes sense, because after I waited some time, and returned to edit the description it worked ?.

Tyvm for the help anyway ?. I will surely remember this, as I have a big issue with uploading the Mod with the text, that I want in the description.

Steam Workshop is clunky at times.

it's already crashed at least twice on users and sometimes you get errors when trying to upload. Probably because its servers are being overloaded with eager modders and mod users.
