Tutorial 10 - World Hookup. Problem with water showing

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 1:18 pm

Hi. I've been following the beginner's tutorials, I'm up to world hookup and have run into a problem. When I bring up Tamriel, Wilderness, 3x -11y I get masses of water where the ground should be. I can't add the nordic ruins exterior pieces because I can't line them up with the ground. Can anyone help me to get the ground back please?

the water is actually below the ground...you've zoomed or panned or something and gotten your camera below the ground. Reload the cell and zoom out without panning or rotating and you should see the ground.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I think you're saying that my camera is stuck between the water and the 'layer' of earth? I seem to be having a slightly different problem. When I load up the wilderness cell (3,-11) I get water and a bit of grass as the starting view. Zooming out I can see rocks, mountains, trees, etc. but I still see water as if the layer of earth is not there. Due to this layer not being there I have trees and boulders that appear to float in mid air. If I turn around I can see Riverwood but it looks like a tidal wave has just passed through. I'd include a screenshot but I'm not sure how to upload one. Thanks again for your help.

When I load that cell my initial view is of snow...lots of snow. when I zoom out I see rocks and trees and things.

Oh, wait, wrong zone...when I load 3,-11 I do in fact see grass..when I "look up" I see a dragon in the air above a dliff ledge...don't see any water yet.

(Edit) Ah, Turned around and there's a river.

Try to change the show/hide things. Menu View->Show/Hide Windows and select "Terrain"
