I like the Fox

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 8:01 am

I like the Fox. That's one thing Skyrim has with the charm of Oblivion. The fox is not as big nor does he have the weapons of the other carnivores in Skyrim. He stays away from critters with longer teeth. The Fox rambles along, fussily making noise, never attacking me, often even matching my stride. I'm not alone in Skyrim as long as the Fox is there. I like him very much. In the most remote places, those high shelves you sometimes reach, there he'll be, snorting and making noise. He's never barred his teeth or tried to bite. I've run quite a distance with a Fox with me on the trail. He's not frightened, just nervous. He comes in several colors, red, winter white, and light gray. I'm not sure if there's a brown Fox...

Thank God for the Fox. He'll probably be eliminated next Elder Scrolls game. He made too much noise. They didn't like the whinning. His pelt was not worth much....he got in the way of the Wolf hunt....

I think we should keep the Fox and give him something to hunt besides rabbits. A place like Skyrim would be full of mice at certain times of year. Foxes love mice.

Like to see some artic mice next time around.... and our Fox happily chasing them.

A fox ran up besides me. As he passed he crowded me aside and ran me into a tree.

He always tricks me because he sounds like a wolf.

I'll be honest, I've never killed him in my 200 hours of gameplay. When I see him getting chased by a hunter or other animal, I rush to his aid.

Yes, they run down the trail or across the field and wheeze and snort. I like them. I do a little wheezing these days myself...

He claims to have allergies, but I can never be sure. He is a fox.

very good.

Makes me wonder who in Bethesda had experience with foxes and decided they should snort, wheeze along the trail, and not shy off?

I unfortunately had to put one down who was charmed by a Spriggan. I was not happy.

I chased one for a long time and he never bit nor showed teeth. Charmed by a spriggan- that the green flow fuzz an animal gets near a spriggan at those wilderness sites marked by a tree? I thought those animals were possessed by the spirit of the site, but you're saying the Spriggan did it?

Skyrim improved a lot of creatures and the spriggan is very well done.

I think Spriggans are the ones who command animals to attack you. They always seem to be around when an elk starts clobbering me in the face.

did the eld have a glow around it- a greenish yellowish glow? I had no idea that was the spriggan's doing.

Foxes don`t sound like foxes in real life.

Maybe they don`t have any in America to get sound samples from.

Or maybe these are weird Skyrim foxes; yea we`ll take that, works for everything else.

Oh and I have never killed a fox yet, probably because I feel sorry for them when i see one being chased by a dozen dogs and horses in my neighbourhood.

Oh those dear little foxes.....I remember I used to chase after them, trying to stop there running
One time, it ran into a bear. The fox had no chance
That bear then was killed by the Mace of Molag Bal
Another time, fox ran into some wolves. Fox survided. Wolves didn't
I used Kyne's peace on one before. It was nice to check out the little guy
I hope they keep foxes

I like the fox as well. Accidentally killed an arctic fox - mistook him for something else in a moment of surprise... Oops.

I look at them as spirit guides of a sort.....

I love those little guys. They always seem so excited to see me coming, we race along and have a grand ol time. Same with all the other furry woodland creatures. It's like a Disney movie sometimes.

So, the other day. I'm heading west from Ivarstead to Helgen. Jogging along with one of my fox buddies when I see a figure coming toward us. I slow down thinking it may be a bandit/assassin. The guy pulls his bow...and shoots the fox. :ooo:

It turned out to be a hunter. He doesn't stop, just keeps right on going like nothing happened. "I've been hunting in these parts for years." he cheerily informs me.

"And your friends'll be hunting for your parts for years to come." I felt like saying. Normally I have a certain amount of compassion, even for those who try to kill me. But this guy actually made me want to kill him out of anger. But I let him go. :wallbash:

Never kill any of them. Cute as they are, I just leave them alone. Great to have ingame to show there is some sort of wilderness that exist in the game. Same with birds, bugs, and mammoths.
