Warnings during texture swap

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 7:50 am

TEXTURES: Warnings were encountered during texture swap for model '________'. Check warnings file for more details.

Hi, I'm getting this error on some texture work I'm doing for a new mod I'm working on.

Not sure what it means, but the warnings file says it is missing an 'environment map'? What is that and how do I fix it?

Thanks!

No ideas, I guess.... I've looked at several texture sets, very few have environment maps... why do they need them?

I'm still getting several warnings, but can't work out why:

TEXTURES: CLONE IOTTundraCotton : TundraCotton01:0 is missing a soft lighting map

or

TEXTURES: CLONE IOTSap : Sap:8 is missing an environment map

Anyone any help?

Just when your mod is loaded, or always?

I see this on vanilla assets now and again, and I haven't looked too closely.
But based on what it says, the nif is configured to use particular shaders that are expecting certain texture maps that aren't being found and/or used.

I look at the NIF file and see what texture are being used on each node. I then add those vanilla textures if I am not changing them myself, when I apply my own texture set.

You'll get that error even if you make a clone and just change the diffuse map. With some base game objects if all you do is drag and drop them into a location, you'll get the 'missing map' error as well.
