Adding water to a cave (Beginner question)

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 2:52 pm

Hello! I'm new to the CK and modding in general and I just had a quick question.

I'm doing a cave area and I want to add a water feature that comes out of a certain point and flows down a series of cliffs and then goes away somewhere (TBD in the future, I guess.) I've found some waterfall effects but nothing that seems to allow me to add a flow. How would I go about doing this?

This is a bit of a general question. Do you mean, how can you create a creek? Or a pool or what?

Yeah, it will be more like a creek. Possibly flowing into a pool.

Basically I want something that flows out of the gate on the castle and down that nightmare of cliffs into the bottom of the cave. Is that even possible?

I don't remember the one that I'm using for my cave system but put creek in... It has that in the name. Look at Bleak Falls... It has a lot of water going on... As well as Labarynthian.

I would use the FXcreekflatlong01, or just type in creek, and play around until you get one that you like. As for the water, go into the activators section, and find water. Find a water size you like, then double click on it, which should enter you into the Reference tab. Then click on edit base, and edit the water type until it suits your needs. As to do your request... you could place those creeks on each one. Just fool around with it I guess.

The main water can be set whenever you create a new cell. All other water should come from Activators that IS waterfalls/etc or spawns water that will flow into the area.

At least it was like that in the past.

Sorry for dragging this post out of death but I'm having an issue. Every time I try adding water to a new interior cell(yes I've enabled the "Has Water" box) I have the ability to set the height, type all the normal stuff, which I do. The problem comes upon hitting Apply or Okay and suddenly... NO WATER! it's utterly madding. when i hit Apply nothing happens, not general judting of how high the water is... Upon okay same thing, No Water! I reopen the cell itself and the water's height is set at 0 again!

The has water box only works for exterior cells. To add water to an interior cell you will need to do it from the object window
