Hello. First off, I would like to apologize if there is already a mod, or thread, about this matter. I have tried to Google search it.

I would like to make a mod that allows you to read books that are in containers and bookshelves, the same way you can read books that are in your inventory or in the game world. I have tried and failed to find any way to go about doing this. If you want to make this mod instead of helping me, go right ahead. But does anybody know how to do this?

I find it irritating that I am unable to read books inside containers without having to pick it up for two main reasons: Sometimes it would be nice to skim over a book before deciding I want to steal it from a bookshelf or any other container, and also because I have almost every book I encounter in my inventory (thank you modav carryweight), and because I cannot read a book from the container, I have to sift through my inventory to find it after picking it up. I would like to note I am also talking about bookshelves (like in the Arcanium) when I mention containers.

Any help is appreciated.

What you want already exists in the original game. Press L-shift to read a book, eat food, drink potion directly from any container.
