D'oh! I guess I'm going to have to learn modelling?

I've been stumbling along, learning by doing (best way, after all) in creating a house on Lake Ilinalta. But I've run into a problem, partly my fault because of a desire for verisimilitude and partly due to a lack of existing static objects.

How so? I chose for the exterior one of the Solitude farm houses, I think it's the same as Katla's house. Seems reasonably sized and visually interesting. The trouble starts with the door. it's clearly designed for the round-top door like that used for Proudspire's basemant entrance. That's fine, but the interior component? Nothing but square doors. The walls with windows don't match the exterior, and there's no interior roof dormers, either. However, I might look at the Riften stuff and see if I can use something from there.

I realize that none of this really matters, but still...

Oh, and another thing: Is there a simple way to make a LOD version of the house? Unlike most other structures in the CK, there's no corresponding LOD model of these farmhouses. The result is that it's hit-or-miss seeing the house, even from one cell away.
