Heightmap Import

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 7:28 pm

Hey, so I've been trying to import a heightmap to a new region file, but it just seems impossible. Using the heightmap editor just seems completely wrong in every way possible.

I had the same issue when I once attempted modding Oblivion. Can anyone tell me how, if I even can, to import a heightmap? Thanks.

Any of you lovely guys and gals have a clue as to how this is done? I do remember there was support for it in Oblivion, but it crashed my CS whenever I tried to do it. :(

The worldspace creation in CK doesn't really work but you can use external tools like TESAnnwyn for that. However some people seemed to be successful by placing a RAW map divided in four parts in the HeightField subfolder in Skyrim Data (if I remember correctly) but for me the saving didn't work so I sticked to TESAnnwyn.
There are already five threads on that painful topic and the last one's http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1356815-creating-new-worldspacesdiscussion-thread-5/. In these you should find some useful information regarding these things.

And the Skyrim compatible version of TESAnnwyn you can find http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1311730-release-tesannwyn-and-tes4qlod-for-skyrim/.
