I think there is a workaround but I can't think of it offhand, I don't own a PS3. It has something to do with loading a prisoner save to make a new game.

I hope it is, and if I were you I would keep my main save on the flash drive until that bug is fixed.

That just happened to my husband and I last night.. He had already been playing for a while and finally got me to play. So last night I set my person up and played. At one point I did look to make sure his file was still there and it was. But then tonight when he logged on his save file was not there. We thought it would be the same as Oblivion which we both have save files...this really svcked. He had done so much more than I had. If I would have known this I would have not set up my character yet. I really hope they fix this soon. It was a major bummer for my husband to lose everything he had done. I felt really bad.

Save your old file to a USB before starting a new game, if the new game overwrite your old save files, you can still move it back to the ps3 and it should be fine then.

That shouldn't be possible. Unless you're talking about the 3 autosave slots. Those are constantly overwritten.

One of my saves mysteriously disappeared too, and I am on a PC. I think some of those PS3 things aren't PS3 things.

Anyone have this happen on xbox 360?

Many people will have several characters played at once, so I wonder what is causing this? I don't plan on playing more than one character at once, but it's still nice to hear of this issue.

I'm running 11 characters at present (long story) never lost a save so far on 360.

I have two saves on the ps3. I can make a third, try to make a fourth and poof, the third one has been overwritten. I like trying out as many builds as i possibly can and having them getting overwritten is incredibly annoying.
