Skoooooooma!

Whats the deal with it? Can you buy it/sell it/make it? Its not illegal??? Not addicting? No side effects?

What are they thinking?! I thought that Beth would actually make it awesome in Skyrim, since in Oblivion it was pretty cool. You just couldnt do as much with it as you should like selling or buying and stuff like that.

What does everyone else think about "skooma" in skyrim? :D

I think it should be horribly addicting with major withdrawal symptoms.

Thats what I'm saying! Glad to hear you all are with me on this one. They should make a whole DLC on Skooma where you could either go good way and bust a major organization, or bad way where you start to sell it all around Skryim! That would be AWESOME!!

My Khajit has a moonsugar addiction. Okay, she doesn't have any mechanical effects, but if I see any moonsugar I immediately break off what I'm doing to steal it and then eat it.

Agreed, compared to how it was in morrowind it has just increasingly become disappointing to me. In morrowind it was worth 500 per bottle which made finding it more exciting because it was worth hoarding and finding someone to sell it to as it was illegal and not everyone would buy it from you. not only that but the given effects of increased speed and strength (although redundant in skyrim) were awesome IMO.

But in oblivion and now in skyrim its been reduced to a glorified minor restore stamina potion, anyone can buy and sell for less than 100 gold. that is horrible in my opinion. I'd like to see a mod making it more interesting with increased price and unique effects such as visual filters and maybe damage resistance.

Skooma, yet one more thing that Bethesda dropped the ball on. Plenty of flash, but very little depth.

Fallout 3 had a pretty good mod out that introduced all sorts of new chems into the wasteland... complete with active effects and addiction. Why this wasn't included in the game is beyond me. If the modders could do it years ago, why can't/won't Bethesda do it today?

There needs to be a mod to make it properly addicitve. There is one already that makes it craftable and adds a visual effect after taking it.

Agreed.
Would like to see a stat bonus for a few hours after you take it. But if you go a day or 2 without using it, then you should have some kind of penalty to your character.

This.

... and ...

It's nice to see new people discovering one of the little diversions that has carried forward through the last few installments of the Elder Scrolls.

Now, now, at least Oblivion's skooma had negative effects. That's why I didn't use it too often. Skooma use in Skyrim doesn't matter at all. It's actually better than drinking mead and wine, since there's no slow down in stamina recovery.

Mmhm, my stepfather asked me what skooma was, and I didn't know how to answer...but, yes, skooma is very undeveloped, it's just a worse version of restore stamina potions.

I miss how Skooma was dealt with in Oblivion, and Morrowind. They made it seem like you were actually doing something illegal.
