Turn kill cameras off

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 1:24 pm

Does anyone know if there's some way to turn off the kill camera cut-scenes?

The problem I'm having, is whenever I'm using a destruction spell and the kill-cam engages, it depletes my magicka to zero when I'm trying to use a short burst to conserve magicka.

Very annoying!

Please forgive if this has been discussed elsewhere.

You're actually killing mobs with the concentration destruction spells? Those are pretty much all low level aren't they?

The kill cameras only engage if the enemy being shot is the last one you're in combat with (or on a sneak attack shot where you don't have any other mobs agroed yet) so you should be getting your out-of-combat regeneration after the cutscene, right?

I am not sure how it was done, but http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13396 disables the magic and archery kill cams in 1.5.

Not quite true. For example, there are two enemy next to each other and I kill one of them with a concentration spell. The kill-cam raises its ugly head, depletes my magicka, and now my spell is useless against the second enemy. Happens frequently.

Actually what I said WAS true, you just cut out the second part, about killing one mob before the others have agro yet. But unless you're killing something with only 8 or so hit points, the other mobs WILL agro before the first one is dead from the concentration attack.

Thanks Redwood and SubRosa!

Turns out I'm not the only one who wants to kill the kill-camera ("rightfully" or "wrongfully").

Solution (apparently) is to set iKillCamLevelOffset (in CK GameSetting) to 0.

Too bad they (Beth) didn't provide easier way to toggle this dubious "enhancement".

Thanks again!
