nifskope LOD meshes help

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 7:27 pm

Wrapping: A vertex in geom 'MountainCliff01_LOD_1:0' has a texture coordinate well outside of the (0,1) range. Wrapping is NOT supported in LOD.

Comes up as an error.

LOD works in four stages, low quality, higher, higher still, highest. (my terms)

Owing to the game designating ALL high quality LOD cliffs as having to use the same high res texture (grey stone - I want the high quality nif to use a different one) I am trying to take one of the lower quality nifs, replace the mesh within it and have the texture address an LOD texture with higher quality. This will hopefully fool the game into thinking its selecting a lower quality nif for very close up LOD but actually selecting a better one.

I have swapped over bslightingshader blocks and moved a higher quality cliff into a lower quality nif LOD file. However it still gives me the above error no matter what I try to do. Anyone have any idea or willing to give me a hand doing some different LOD cliffs for Mesogea and any other mod that wants them.

The only difference I can find in each nif is the working nif has under nitrishapedata UV, every UV coordinate 0.xxxxx whereas the non working one has -1,xxx or -0,xxx or any other minus.
