Problem applying armor enchantment at enchanting table

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 11:27 pm

I've got a mod I created for a pair of mage robes, both of which have custom enchantments on them. They're available in a container in Breezehome. They both work as intended with their respective enchantments and are functioning as they should. But here's the problem: When I disenchant these robes, and the enchantment is added to my list of available enchantments, I can't seem to apply it to any clothing/armor. It won't work on boots, gauntlets, robes, armor... anything. When I try to apply the enchantment to an item, I get this message in the top-left corner: "Chosen enchantment cannot be applied to this item."

So... any idea what's wrong? Why is it that the enchantment works on the pre-made robes, but when disenchanted and attempting to apply to a new garment, it can't be done?

Just to be a little more clear, this is the problem: I can disenchant an item, learn it's enchantment, but then I'm unable to actually apply that enchantment to anything. Anyone know what would cause that to happen?

you have to assign it a form list that contains a list of keywords for which body part you want the enchantment to be applied (i.e. armorCuirass, armorHelmet etc). this list is chosen in the enchantment editor window.

you can use vanilla lists or create your own. for example the vanilla EnchantmentRobes allows you to apply the enchantment only on body armors and clothing, no gloves or boots etc

Thanks for the response. I can't seem to find the editor window you're referring to. There are only two that I know of (see image below) but I don't see anything about form lists or keywords, etc. Where do I find what you're talking about? Thanks again for the help on this.

Ahh, okay. Much appreciated!

Update: That solved the problem. I can now disenchant my robes and apply the enchantment to new robes. Thanks for the help!
