Script for allowing spouseS to live at mod house

Hello. I just read a massive post where several people were trying to work the issue of building script for allowing spouses to live at our creation kit mod houses and 3 pages later...someone comes in with a solution for allowing 1 spouse to live anywhere (a mod I've tried) and the post just comes to a halt with no tutorial. (http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1351014-adding-spouse-to-new-player-home/) Cannot reply to the post it appears to be locked, put I really wanted the tutorial...dammit.

"Spouse can live anywhere" mod provides a magical power to mark a home for the spouse to live in, which is beautiful if you have just 1 wife, but I have over a dozen now. The other thing is that it is a mod, so I don't learn anything about scripting whatsoever. I have zero knowledge about scripting (other than creating a short quest once) and was looking forward to a step-by-step tutorial so I could learn something cool.

As I was getting at, I use a mod by Dudestia that lets me use magic or poison to marry virtually anyone in the game. If I use the vanilla homes in the game, all those spouse followers can live at those locations. However, now I have my own houses built in CK and I want to learn how to add these houses to the pool of available homes where my harem can live.

"Spouse can live anywhere" and "multimarriage" mods both have 1 common script file (RelationshipMarriageSpouseHouseScript I believe it was) and I cannot use 2 files with the same name.

So if any of the guys who were commenting on the "spouse to new player home" thread mentioned above are reading, or anyone with a good tutorial on the subject, please comment below and point me in the right direction. Your help will be much appreciated.

im guessing the reason why no tutorial was made is because it really is not practical from a public modding standpoint.

of course it can be done (probably fairly easily), but the mod created can only be used privately and not shared (since it will destroy other mods if shared, and its not really possible to have a "universal" spouse alias for a custom house without slaving the esp to all house mods)

if you look through the relationshipsmarriageFin quest you can see that there are several aliases for the spouse to live in (one per house). you would need to create new aliases for your houses and alter the dialogue so that the option to move to those houses are available


in short, IMO, it's not worth the effort. i think you are better off using something like followers can relax (if your spouses are also followers), or modify the existing multi-spouse mod to work like spouses can live anywhere
